WebI hooked up a new monitor to my new installation with the older drivers, and the problem still persists, so it didn't hurt the monitor. I suspect that it did something to the video card, or possibly the PCIexpress port on my motherboard. I'm considering flashing the BIOS on the video card as a last resort, but I haven't done that yet.
