WebAug 28, 2024 · For just a basic mind flayer it looks like we need the 60-foot cone psychic damage attack, plus access to dominate monster, detect thoughts, and levitate. I guess the closest thing is a Great Old One warlock, plus take the ascendant step invocation for levitate. You could probably re-flavor a dragonborn's breath weapon to psychic damage. WebI was watching “How to slay the Mind Flayer” and they talked about the idea that the alien mindset of Mind Flayers means they wouldn’t think of people as even people. The thing about that idea is Mind-Flayers only become Mind-flayers if they get a host, without the host they become what Mindflayers see as abominations: Neothelid.
